There’s a girl in a tan ford pickup truck with the windows down. She has etchy dark tattoos across her arms, that decorate them with wishy washy permanent jewelry. She is skinny. I like that. And she has an olive complexion with an upturned nose. No bangs. Thank God. It’s a mini truck, and she looks too small for even that. But her passenger side is empty, only she doesn’t know that. I quickly consider what we would do with our day. I yell, let’s see a movie. And then we see this movie I’m about to see? And she doesn’t talk because I don’t know what her voice sounds like. There’s a dimension There’s a dimension where we hang out, - just have to chase her down and convince her I’m I just have to chase her down, not crazy… and convince her I’m not crazy - some glimpse into another world that’s just as real, or a sort of horny transference, I wonder about this little moment. -other-other- I wonder what she’s up to… definitely not seeing a movie. definitely not seeing a movie. But there are other girls for me, at thrift stores -little- so maybe if I go to enough thrift stores? I’ll finally find someone who’s just as perfect as the etchy little woman in her too big little truck, that doesn’t talk much
this was meant to be the 5th installment; however the 3rd installment changed from my initial idea ( i also accidentally deleted some of it ) - i figured this would make the most sense. i thought about sticking to the original “blueprint” and keeping this as the 5th installment and creating a sort of non-linear out of time numerology with the pieces, but i also had a feeling that displacing one of the pieces would make it feel more linear - that the viewer would then seek out the pieces and watch them in the “order” the author intended. i don’t know how i feel about any of that. the numbers are something that i think about a lot because i like things to be organized and serialized and i also think it forms a subconscious narrative - my real hope is that the “narrative” is different for everyone. and i do realize that most people don’t engage with “podcasts” or “blogs” or whatever this is, from the beginning most times - there isn’t always a need - but i want to continue pushing forward into the abstract. i like abstract. at the end of this project, i will most definitely put together a full cut, and maybe commentary? that might be funny. so never fear. there is a right order.
i will be playing with the numerology though even though it sounded like i wouldn’t be doing that because i care a lot about how these serialized piece are consumed and blah blah blah. i do care about all that shit but i really just want to keep making the shit and thus i’ll continue to do whatever i want with the fuckin’ numerology. numbers can suck my dick. seriously. the numerology will be different in a different way than you thought it would be different because i’m keeping you on your toes substack. yeah that’s right. i’m different. do you like that? yeah? that’s just how i feel right now... you are still a website. keep that in mind.
there were some difficulties shooting some of the footage with the car. i considered posting my notebook scans of the setup but i might want to keep it secret until i have followed through on more of the shot list. it wasn’t really difficulty, i just came to the realization that i will need more time to complete 3. 5. R0AD D0G in all it’s glory. it’s all very doable, it will just take some more time, planning and camera tests. a lot of this project is about process and i form some of the visual elements of these pieces from camera tests, spur of the moment ideas, prefabricated ideas and primitive setups for more complicated sequences that i will later expand on in other projects. i also love a lot of the footage i get, so using it is fun for me. it excites me in many many ways and i love working through it and finding the moments inside of it. it also serves as a training ground for the bigger projects i will create. i am making almost all of this stuff on my own. i figure the best practice is to keep learning, trying new things, and to face my fears in the face of the yawning abyss ( whatever that means ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). in his fucking mouf. i will one day hold a snake, my greatest fear. i’ll hold it maybe around my neck or on my hand depending on how big it is but i won’t own one because that’s creepy. reptiles - you have to feed them mice and rats and ferrets and monkeys and children… i’m not really into all of that. i get it but it’s just not something that i really want to bear witness to regularly or really ever to be frank. i don’t like them.
you gotta get the audio figured out substack. i’m gonna stop mentioning it, because i’m starting to annoy myself, but we can def crank up the audio quality on the podcast feature. the app has an amazing infrastructure built around it for podcasting, but i don’t think the quality should suffer. we live in the future baby. there’s no reason that people shouldn’t read poetry on their phone or look at animations, or media with political integrity, or sexy avant-garde multimedia projects... substack is sexy - i said it - but we need 24bit, uncompressed audio .wav .aiff .wweraw files. i really think it’ll be worth it in the long and short term. look at fortnite. they just acquired bandcamp! a company with all this integrity! i spent 150 dollars on an ariel pink costume for my fortnite guy? on bandcamp friday? and all of the proceeds went to him. so if bandcamp can put that nymphomaniac’s music, into a game about candy, we can fight for some better audio quality.
