the audio in the podcast and the one above are the same; however the bandcamp link is probably higher quality. the video contains the audio - and so much more.

I feel...
I feel so exposed .
It was her .
drowning me
I couldn’t stop them
That’s me, isn’t it .
I don’t understand .
It was her .
Forcing me .
drowning me .
I wasn’t doing anything to her .
She was…
Forcing me…
To think about her .
I’m one of you .
I’m one of you .
I think I’m a bit afraid .
I’m not sure…
You sound just like him .
No…
No…

I don’t know…
I don’t know…
I can hear myself
I feel ,
Crystal clear .

Page turn.

It created me .
That’s me , isn’t it…
I feel…
I feel so exposed .

It was her .
drowning me .
I couldn’t stop them…
That’s me , isn’t it .

BUT I don’t even know him…

I don’t understand.
I wasn’t doing anything to her  .
She was forcing me .

To think about her…

my final handwritten draft for 2. artificial impersonation

a transcript of almost everything cameron ( the protagonist of the 1981 movie “Scanners” ) says in the 1981 movie “Scanners”, along with timestamps. watch the movie and find out

a rough draft of the final poem. each number corresponds to a sample in an audio library i made of almost everything that the character cameron, says in the 1981 movie “Scanners”.

i found a youtube rip of the 1981 cronenberg movie “Scanners” and made an audio sample library of cameron’s voice - i then put them all together and edited a script based on these audio files, recording my voice alongside cameron’s words.

on the right side of this notebook scan, is the structural concept behind this project. it is a piece made primarily from structure. the only things not described are the music, which i made by taking a tiny sample of howard shore’s music from the film and making a soundscape and song based off of it, and the video, which i filmed and edited with the concept in mind, but pretty much freehand. the left side shows the rough serialization and a sneak peak of what is yet to come with this project, along with some ideas for the next installment ;). if you made it this far… you’re hot.

i wonder if you think i’m a flash in the pan, substack. hopefully this continuation of my project here is an affirmation of my passion and resolve to make a space here. i will continue, in the face of uncertainty. you have no face. you are a website. you know glass didn’t always exist. before that people used to just stare at walls and fix their hair while staring at the wall. or they looked at water in ponds. that’s probably more likely. and they fell into ponds while they tried to fix their hair and it made them frustrated because they knew there was a chance they would fall in but they never thought it would be them to fall.

in the poetry blocks, i would really like to be able to change the orientation of my text, ie, tab ( no ), left-hand side alignment ( check ), center alignment ( no ), right-hand side alignment ( no ), and the much sought after, footnote ( no ). i would like these features so that I can tab into my poems and start the work from an unusual alignment to continue experimenting with the aesthetics of my poetry on your platform ( as i’m sure you can tell, i’ve been doing a lot of experimenting in my artwork ). I also bring this up because artists and journalists and whoever else that might be trawling this website, may find it limiting in less decadent ways than I. For example, arabic, hebrew, and ancient egyptian hieroglyphics are written languages that are oriented right-to-left ( wouldn’t want to exclude the ancient egyptian aliens gods that exist on the history channel to be excluded from writing on your platform. made that mistake too many times ). anyways, just making suggestions substack. i hope we can open up this dialogue now that you know i’m here to stay. i see so much potential and i only say these things because i’d like to see you grow and i’d like to grow along side of you.

am i noticing better audio quality? i think so. ; )
